Warm weather makes snakes more active and more likely to be aggressive. If you live or spend time in areas prone to snakes (rocky terrain, creek or lake banks, fields near brush, brush piles or dense vegetation) keep a close eye on your pets.
And there really is a Rattlesnake Vaccine!
It's effective against the rattlesnakes and copperheads found in our region. The vaccine lessens the severity of a dogs reaction to the venom. If your dog is the outdoorsy type that can't help sniffing around snake environments, be safe and call our office to schedule the vaccine.
After the vaccine is given it takes six weeks to achieve maximum protection so plan ahead and protect your pet.
